About the product
"Hetraketraka" ("Turmoil") is one of Andriamalala's four most celebrated works, alongside Fofombadiko, Ilay Vohitry ny Nofy, and Ny Fanagasiana. Written in 1963-1964 and published in two volumes in 1966-1967, it explores Malagasy nationalism and the struggles of ordinary, marginalized people through the author's realist lens, weaving landscape into the story's emotional rhythm. Long part of Madagascar's general education curriculum, it remains central to Andriamalala's reputation as the father of Malagasy literary realism.
